A lunation Calendar

The sacred trinity of the Earth, Moon, and Sun are represented in one of the most visible, fundamental, and reliable (if ever shifting) cycles we know so well: the lunation—or as I like to call it: the moonth. Where is the Earth Moon and Sun shown as one? Look to the Moon(th).

I want to share here my first original naming of the 30 nights of the Moon. It is very much inspired by the Moon calendars and practices of Hawaii, as well as Greek and Hebrew traditions, and much much more. I honor the ancestors; and I also honor my and our living experience of these nights of the moonth, and continual observance of the Moon time and time again. It is my intimate relationship with the Moon and each night of the moonth that ultimately led to these names and this calendar. I hope you enjoy this rendition of the Moon’s Cycle!

Please share any wonderings, curiosities, or excitement if you have them! All of us now and ancestrally use(d) Earth’s turning cycles of Moon and Sun to orient and define our time. You are very welcome to use my calendar, or the framework presented here. I also highly encourage you to try making your own if (or when) you are well familiar with the lunation cycle.
